Years ago, our founder, Aaron Rau, caught the "mod bug" after purchasing his first Subaru. What began as a personal hobby quickly grew into a lifelong passion for the Subaru brand and the community surrounding it. Aaron built his experience working at a respected independent repair shop before continuing his career with Subaru of America, where he further refined his technical expertise and commitment to factory-level service.

After years of owning, building, and repairing countless Subaru vehicles, Aaron turned that passion into a profession by opening 5 Star Auto Repair in Council Bluffs, Iowa, in July 2021. From day one, the shop was built on a simple philosophy: provide honest advice, exceptional workmanship, and customer service that treats every vehicle as if it were our own. That commitment quickly earned the trust of Subaru owners throughout the region.

As the business continued to grow, so did our vision. To better reflect our dedication to the Subaru community and our specialization in Subaru maintenance, repair, and performance, we introduced SubieRoots—a Subaru-focused brand operating under the trusted foundation of 5 Star Auto Repair. The SubieRoots name represents where our journey began and the passion that continues to drive everything we do today.

In 2026, Aaron made the decision to relocate the business to Northwest Arkansas, bringing the same experience, values, and customer-first approach to a new community. With the opening of our Springdale, Arkansas location in Fall of 2026, SubieRoots continues its mission of serving Subaru owners with expert maintenance, precision repairs, performance upgrades, and quality aftermarket installations.
